Don't go "Phishing"!
It's pronounced "fishing" and the idea is to use some bait to obtain your personal information for the theft of your identity. Recently some of our members have contacted us regarding suspicious emails they have recieved asking them to log in to a system with their name and password or their Social Security Number.
Do Not log in to any of these sites. Someone has cast their bait out to see if they can get a bite of your personal information for their use!
Another scheme is to ask you for verification of a charge card transaction. They ask you to give them the first 12 digits of the 16 digits on your card. They say that they do not want all 16 digits of your card for your protection. They ask for the first 12 because they probably have the last four digits from a charge card receipt. Most charge card receipts and copies from merchants only print the last four digits on your receipt. When you discard these receipts please consider shredding them in a crosscut shredder.
We will never contact you by email regarding your accounts or information. If you are contacted by a suspicious email, report it to our webmaster. We will forward the information to the proper authorities. If you have any questions please call us or check out our staying safe guide on our website.
